The bee-friendly Garden *book review*

My first impression of this book was great! It has a beautiful cover and lots of full color pictures.

Not only is this a beautiful book to look at, but it has great information as well. It tells us why we need a bee friendly garden, how to design and plant our garden as well.

This book goes into detail on the basics of a bee friendly garden and even how to plant an edible bee friendly garden.

If you are interested in planting a bee friendly garden, but don't know where to start, this book can really help you. It even has a section on becoming a Bee activist.

This book would make a great gift for those people that enjoy gardening. I give it 5 stars all the way around.

I was given this book by blogging for books, free of charge in exchange for my honest review.

The Prime- Not your normal dieting book

I received the book, The Prime, free from blogging for books to review. I chose this book because it intrigued me just a little. The first thing that caught my eye was the phrase, stop dieting backward. I have had numerous stomach issues and this book takes you through why you "gut" effects your whole body.

It starts you out explaining how your gut effects not only your weight, but your brain. The author explains to you how excess weight is a side effect of your body being in a toxic, inflammatory state.  If your body is not ready for weight loss, it's an uphill battle.

Dr. Chaudhary has is originally from India and as a child moved to the states. She teaches Ayurveda, the most ancient system of healthcare in the world. She explains what it is and how it works.

The author also shows you why it's not about what you eat, but what you digest. The book helps you determine if you have leaky gut syndrome. It also teaches you how to cut cravings, have energy and get into good healthy lifestyle habits.

You also get recipes for teas that will help you in detoxing and getting your body back in balance. There are suggestions on meditation to help combat stress as well.  This book is packed full of information that is not your "normal" dieting handbook.

I'm not sure that I'm on board with everything mentioned in the book. It was an interesting read and the author seemed to be very informed and has your not so traditional approach to losing weight. If you've tried everything and still can't seem to lose weight, you may want to give this book a read.
